Pop-Up Art Installations in Vacant Windows
Pop-Up Art Installations utilize empty retail spaces while they are between tenants, transforming dark and vacant windows into a series of unique public attractions by working with local artists to create original site-specific artwork. Artworks bring visual interest to areas of the town which would otherwise be dark and unwelcoming, and provide a "blank canvass" for emerging and professional artists to experiment. Increased foot traffic draws business to Narberth restaurants, retail and services, supporting a thriving local economy and encouraging residents and visitors to explore with curiosity.
Artwork increases visibility for potential renters and establishes Narberth as a destination for arts and culture. When a renter takes over space, the artwork is removed or relocated, ensuring there is always something new to see in Narberth. Currently, Pop-Up Art is on display at the former Mapes, McSheas, EZ Phone Repair and Taco Takeaway and Village Treats locations.
